NFL player prop analysis

Knowshon Moreno could be in for a big game today when the Denver Broncos take on the Oakland Raiders.

It’s no secret that the Raiders have had a hard time stopping the run this season. Oakland is third-last in run defense in the league this season, allowing 154.2 yards per game.

The last time the Broncos and Raiders clashed back in Week 3 Denver obliterated the Raiders defense for 215 rushing yards. Correll Buckhalter led the way with 108 yards and Moreno racked up 90 yards on 21 carries.

Expect Moreno to surpass that total today with Buckhalter doubtful with a sprained ankle. If Buckhalter is out that would mean more carries for Moreno which will likely mean a career day for the rookie.

At Bovada Moreno’s rushing yards total was set at 93.5 yards. Both the over and the under are set at -115. That pretty high considering Moreno has hit or topped 90 rushing yards in a game only twice this season and he averages only 64.4 yards per game. Despite those numbers the over looks like a solid bet against the awful Raiders run defense.

If you’re looking for another breakout rushing performance today look at Seattle. The Seahawks are taking on Tampa Bay today and the Bucs have been killed by the run lately.

In their last four games Tampa Bay has given up 590 rushing yards. For the mathematically challenged that averages out to 147.5 yards per game.

The only problem is trying to decide which Seahawks running back to go with. Seattle is planning to split the carries between Julius Jones and Justin Forsett. Last week neither back found much running room against Houston with Jones rushing for 39 yards on 10 carries and Forsett rushing for 26 yards on nine carries.

If Jones and Forsett end up splitting the carries as planned you may want to take the Under for both of them despite the fact they’re facing the Bucs lame defense.
