NFL QB props for title weekend

If you can figure out which quarterback will pass for the most yards today it could add some extra cash to your bankroll for the Super Bowl.

Over at Bovada , all four of today’s starting quarterbacks are listed in their versus passing yards props. The big underdog is of course Mark Sanchez at 27/4. After passing for only 282 yards combined in the Jets first two playoff games theirs is practically no chance Sanchez will be the top passer today unless Peyton Manning, Brett Favre and Drew Brees all get injured.

While Sanchez is the underdog on the props list the favorite is Saints QB Brees at 5/6. During the regular season Brees averaged 292.5 passing yards per game which was the best among all the remaining QBs. He only put up 247 yards last week against Arizona, but New Orleans had that game in hand by the third quarter and ran the ball a lot from them on to keep the clock moving and finish of the Cardinals.

Following Brees on the Bodog props odds list is Manning at a weird 43/20 and Favre at 7/4. Manning totaled the most odds of any of the playoff quarterbacks during the regular season with 4500, but since Brees didn’t play in Week 17 Manning’s average yards per game was lower than the Saints QB.

Last week against the Ravens Manning put 246 passing yards on the board. Can he top that against a Jets defense that was No. 1 versus the pass this season and only allowed 153.7 yards per game during the regular season? The answer to that question may be yes, considering Philip Rivers torched New York for 298 yards last week.

Lastly, there’s Favre. He was the star last week in the Vikings rout of the Cowboys with his four touchdown passes, but he only passed for 234 yards. That’s because he only threw the ball 24 times, thanks to a ton of good field position supplied by the Vikings’ defense.

During the regular season Favre averaged 33 pass attempts per game and if he gets anywhere near that today he’ll likely come close to his season average of 262.6 yards per game. To top both Brees and Manning though, he’ll likely have to come close to the 300 yard mark. With Adrian Peterson bound to get his fair share of carries Favre may have a hard time keeping up with the younger guns in the stats department today.
