Brown's Injury Causes Two-Point Line Move

Antonio Brown Steelers

With the announcement that Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown is officially inactive for Sunday’s game against the Broncos due to a concussion, the Steelers have become even bigger underdogs in the contest, going from +7 to +9 as of late morning on Friday.

The news is likely well received by the Broncos, as Brown lit their secondary on fire for 16 catches, 189 yards and two touchdowns in a Week 15 game.

There’s probably not many receivers in the NFL that would cause a two-point line shift, but Brown is arguably the league’s top playmaker whose production will be impossible to replace. This season, Brown averaged 114.6 receiving yards per game with 10 touchdowns.

To add even more fuel to the fire, the Steelers will be forced to revamp their game plan as Brown accounted for 12.2 targets per game this season.

As nine-point dogs it’ll be interesting the see if bettors find value in the number and push it back towards seven. With Ben Roethlisberger also hurting, it might be a serious challenge for the Steelers to keep the score close.
