Bengals vs Bucs: Monday Night Betting

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are listed as home favorites at the online sportsbooks for Monday night as they play host to the Cincinnati Bengals at Raymond James Stadium in a primetime matchup on ESPN.

The Bucs lost 26-16 on the road to the Minnesota Vikings in their preseason opener last week as a 3.5-point underdog on the NFL odds in an OVER result, with new Tampa Bay starting quarterback Jameis Winston completing just nine of his 19 pass attempts for 131 yards with an interception in the game.

Winston will be looking to be better on Monday night, with the Bucs sitting as 2.5-point home favorites for the game at Sportsbook (with the total at 40 points). The former Florida State Seminoles quarterback was the first overall pick in this year's NFL Draft.

Tampa Bay's offensive line took a hit in their preseason opener when Demar Dotson suffered a sprained knee; he's expected to miss about six weeks with the injury, meaning he won't be ready to help out Winston in Week 1 of the season.

The Bengals won their preseason opener 23-10 at home against the New York Giants as a 1-point favorite on the betting lines in an UNDER result. Andy Dalton saw limited action against the Giants, completing all three of his pass attempts for 31 yards and a touchdown.

The Bengals and Buccaneers last met back in November 2014, with Cincinnati pulling out a 14-13 road victory in that game but failing to cover the 5.5-point spread at the sportsbooks in an easy UNDER result. Dating back to 1989 the Bengals are 2-6 SU and 2-5-1 ATS against the Bucs during the regular season.

The two teams have met twice in the preseason - in 2004 and 1995 - with the Buccaneers winning both games SU and ATS. The Bengals are 6-4 SU and 6-3-1 ATS in their last 10 preseason games, while the Bucs are 2-8 both SU and ATS.
