They might not be the worst team on paper or on the field but they have the worst odds to make the NFL playoffs of all 32 teams.
The Cleveland Browns are -2000 to miss the playoffs in odds posted this week at online sportsbook Sportsbook, a longer shot than the Indianapolis Colts or Jacksonville Jaguars.
Bettors who believe in the Dawgs would get a 10/1 payout if they somehow escape the tough AFC North with even victories in 2012.
The Minnesota Vikings are also in the mix for biggest longshot at -1600. They would pay +800 to sneak in.
“In both cases, the Browns and Vikings are buried in strong divisions,” explained Jack Randall of OddsShark.com. “Picking the Browns means you think the Bengals, Steelers and Bengals somehow stumble.
“Ditto in Minnesota, they are basically guaranteed six division losses against the Lions, Bears and Packers, meaning they need to go 10-0 against the rest of the league.”
On the flip side, the New England Patriots are the biggest lock to make the playoffs at -900 (bet $90 to turn a $10 profit). The Green Bay Packers and Houston Texans are next at -600.
Houston should have six easy division wins against the Colts, Jaguars and Tennessee Titans in 2012.
