No Shortage of Bad Blood in Bengals-Steelers Contest

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals have one of the most brutal rivalries in the NFL, and the Bengals will have plenty of motivation to come out on top in Week 2 in the wake of last year’s first-round playoff setback to the black and gold.

Shark Bites
  • The Steelers are 4-0 SU in their last four games at home.
  • The total has gone UNDER in six of the Bengals' last seven games after a win.
  • The total has gone OVER in eight of the Steelers' last nine games at home after consecutive wins at home.

The Bengals have historically been an awful bet in this matchup. In the last 20 meetings between the AFC North clubs, Cincinnati is 5-14-1 ATS. Sportsbooks opened the Steelers as 3-point home favorites with a total of 48.5.

Pittsburgh breezed by the Washington Redskins in their Week 1 Monday nighter, pummeling Kirk Cousins and company by a score of 38-16. Even without all-world running back Le’Veon Bell, it doesn’t look like Pittsburgh’s offense is going to miss a beat thanks to DeAngelo Williams. The 33-year-old finished with 171 yards from scrimmage, including six catches and two touchdowns.

Cincinnati squeaked by the New York Jets in a 23-22 triumph and covered the +1 spread. The Bengals have historically struggled with the Steelers, going 35-58 all-time against them.

It’s no secret Cincinnati is a fantastic regular season team, but they’ve been particularly great early in the campaign. In the Bengals’ last seven September games, they’re 7-0 SU and 6-0-1 ATS. Their last postseason win came all the way back in the 1990 AFC Wild Card Game, a drought of 25 seasons.
