Cool weekend betting odds

NFL odds always focus on the point spread and over under, but some of the most fun wagers – and where you can find the best value – is often on future and prop bets.

Here are some of our favorites heading into Week 9, not just on the NFL but Breeders Cup odds, World Series of Poker odds and more.

Saints 8/1 to have a perfect season

bodog just posted this one and it’s interesting given the softy schedule for the 7-0 Saints. Only New England and Dallas appear as threats and both of those games are at the Superdome.
Check out the ‘Saints aint’ prop odds at bodog, along with a slew of Breeders’ Cup and Strikeforce MMA wagers as well.

Super Bowl coin toss odds

This seems silly every year, but while the AFC dominates the game, the NFC dominates the coin toss. When the Cardinals won against last year, it may 12 in a row and 15 of 17.

So while this seems like a 50-50 proposition, the coin toss odds should really favor the NFC. Not really. Most sportsbooks like have this bet as a coin toss.

Cowboys vs Eagles Longest TD of the Game odds

With DeSean Jackson in the lineup, any catch can turn into a touchdown. With that in mind, Sportsbook.com posted a temptingly high over under on this game prop of 45.5.

Jeremy Macklin, who will line up opposite Jackson is another long-ball threat and also has climbed into contention in the NFL offensive Rookie of the Year odds at +800. Mark Sanchez is the big favorite at Sportsbook.com, but Percy Harvin and others are serious threats (and interesting longshot bets).

AFC favored in early Super Bowl odds

The game will be played in an AFC town and the AFC has won eight of 11 Super Bowls. That’s all we know about Super Bowl XIV but the early Super Bowl odds at BetUS.com favor the AFC by three points.

It’s a fun early future bet that could look really good in January, or really bad. Regardless, it’s a fun wager.

Strikeforce odds

Fedor Emelianenko is a beast and the oddsmakers at SportsInteraction.coom are showing him plenty of respect heading into Saturday’s big Strikeforce battle with Brett Rogers.

Rogers is huge, but he’s a huge +350 underdog to The Last Emperor. Watch for fun MMA odds on this fight into the weekend.

World Series of Poker odds

Poker’s long-awaited showcase event starts this week with the final table of the World Series of Poker. Chip leader Darvin Moon is a big 2/1 favorite, but as poker players all know, chip stacks can change quickly.

The best-known player is Phil Ivey, who is 7/2 odds to win despite having a smaller stack than several other of the November Nine. World Series of Poker odds courtesy of bodog.

Darvin Moon 2/1
James Akenhead 15/1
Phil Ivey 7/2
Kevin Schaffel 12/1
Steven Begleiter 11/2
Eric Buchman 3/1
Joe Cada 10/1
Antoine Saout 13/1
Jeff Shulman 4/1
