Divisional Sunday: NFL Betting Preview
Divisional weekend wraps up Sunday with two intriguing NFL betting matchups as the Baltimore Ravens host the Houston Texans and the Green Bay Packers host Eli Manning and the New York Giants.
Here’s a look at some prop bets to consider at Bovada as well as some NFL line movement and totals updates.
No. 3 Houston Texans at No. 2 Baltimore Ravens
Bettors were quick to jump on Baltimore -7.0 early in the week, prompting the line to move to Baltimore -7.5 at TopBet, where it still remains. With two of the top defenses in the NFL meeting in this one, the game opened with the lowest total of the week at 38, but has since moved all the way down to 36 as bettors expect a defensive showdown.
Perhaps the most important aspect of the game outside of the defense will be which elite running back has the better day; Baltimore’s Ray Rice or Houston’s Arian Foster. Prop bettors at Bovada can bet on whether Arian Foster will rush for over or under 75.5 yards (Over -120, Under -110) or if he will score a touchdown (Yes -125, No -105) and whether Ray Rice will rush for over or under 90.5 yards (Over -115, Under -115) or if he will score a touchdown (Yes -190, No +155).
No. 4 New York Giants at No. 1 Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers opened as a 9-point favorite, but they are now a 7.5-point favorite at BetOnline as over 69% of OddsShark bettors expect the New York Giants to cover this week. New York is red-hot with a 3-0 SU and ATS record in its last three games. Green Bay will be tough to top at Lambeau Field though with an 8-0 SU and 7-1 ATS record at home. The total has moved from 51.5 to 52.5 as bettors expect plenty of offense.
The last time these teams played, it came down to who had the ball last, and Aaron Rodgers was masterful in manufacturing a touchdown drive as the clock wound down. Can Eli Manning get the last laugh this time? Bettors can bet on how many yards Rodgers (Over 320.5 at -115, Under 320.5 at -115) and Manning (Over 299.5 at -125, Under 299.5 at -105) will throw for, and how many touchdowns each will pass for (Rodgers Over 2.5 at -165, Under 2.5 at +135 and Manning Over 2 at -155, Under 2 at +125).
