Giants playoff odds, first 0-6 team?
The 1992 San Diego Chargers started the season 0-4 and made the playoffs.
No other 0-4 team has ever rallied from such a poor start. Certainly no 0-5 team has ever done it.
So what do the New York Giants think they are doing starting the year 0-6 and now pressing to win the NFC East? And what about oddsmakers that are nervous enough of Big Blue that they are just +400 odds (4/1) to actually do it?
Online sportsbook Bovada has the Giants at +400 in updated NFC East betting futures this week. Philadelphia is the favorite at -125, although they have shown they can just as easily lose as win and are just 6-5.
Dallas, which visits New York this week as small underdogs, is also solidly in the mix as the second betting choice at +175. Washington, which fell to 3-6 on Sunday and is staring down 3-7 as they host San Francisco in the Week 12 Monday Nighter, are a +2500 longshot.
In other division odds updates, the Patriots are prohibitive chalk to continue their long reign atop the AFC East. They are -1000 despite the Sunday night loss at Carolina with the Dolphins second at Bovada at +600.
The NFC North is tight and the Detroit Lions are the top betting choice right now at -110. Banged up Green Bay and Chicago are next at +225 each. Neither is expected to get their starting QBs back for Week 12.
In the NFC South, the Saints are -300 chalk but the hot Panthers are close behind at +200.
