Packers-Vikings Rivalry Has Been Extremely One-Sided

Five weeks into the campaign, the NFC North hasn’t exactly featured many surprises yet. With the division-leading Green Bay Packers travelling to Minny for a date with the archrival Vikings, bettors can expect to see a tightly contested affair between two teams who simply downright hate each other.

At the time of writing, the line and total for the game were off the board.

Shark Bites
  • The Packers are 1-4 ATS in their last five games on the road after covering in their most recent road game.
  • The Vikings are 8-2 SU and ATS in their last 10 games at home after losing their most recent home game.
  • The total has gone OVER in 11 of the Packers’ last 12 games.

Green Bay is riding a high in the wake of a last-second 35-31 triumph over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5 thanks to a game-winning drive by Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers connected with Davante Adams for a touchdown with 11 seconds remaining to push his team to 4-1 SU on the year.

Rodgers owns a 12-6 SU career record against Minnesota, the third-most wins against any team but fewest against an NFC North foe.

The Packers have had no issues dispatching the Vikings in recent years, as the green and gold are 11-3-1 SU in their last 15 vs Minnesota. The teams split the season series last year, with Minnesota winning 17-14 at home early in the year and the Packers taking the second game 38-25 in Wisconsin on Christmas Eve.

Minnesota eked out a 20-17 win over Chicago in their last time out on Monday Night Football, but it wasn’t exactly an inspiring performance. Starting QB Sam Bradford returned to the team after sitting out for almost a month and looked like he shouldn’t have been allowed on the field, as the signal-caller was clearly suffering medically. Backup Case Keenum once again stepped up for the purple and gold, completing 17 of 21 passes for 140 yards and a touchdown.

With the season-ending injury to star rookie running back Dalvin Cook, it was Jerick McKinnon who stepped up. McKinnon rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown while collecting 58 through the air, leaving the incumbent Latavius Murray in the dust.

Betting the UNDER when these teams get together has proven to be a very successful strategy. In the last five clashes between the Packers and Vikings, the UNDER is 4-1.
