High Playoff Totals Equalling UNDERS

With playoff totals in the NFL increasingly trending towards lower and lower numbers, it has been the outlier of high totals that have given bettors the best value. Over the past three postseasons (including this year), there have been seven games that have closed with a total of 50-plus points and in those games the UNDER has cashed for bettors six times.

Those seven games have seen teams combine for an average of 47.7 points per game and only two games have seen teams score more than 50 combined points. The lone OVER in those seven games came when the New England Patriots beat the Indianapolis Colts in the 2014 postseason by a final score of 43-22.

The Arizona Cardinals hosting the Green Bay Packers looks to be the only game in the Divisional Round to have a chance at closing at 50-points or higher. These two teams met in Week 16 in a contest that the Cards dominated 38-8—a game that also went UNDER for bettors.
