Jets vs. Patriots Betting Lines
In the past 14 seasons, the New York Jets have only failed to cover the spread four times in their annual visit to Foxboro to face the New England Patriots.
The Jets have only a 4-point spread to cover on Monday Night Football, while the 9-2 Patriots hope to stay undefeated at home this season and leapfrog the Jets for the AFC East lead. The matchup report doesn't tip toward one side or the other.
The Jets vs. Patriots betting line hasn’t changed much throughout the week. It opened with the Patriots favored by 3.5 points at Bovada and, aside from a brief fluctuation at Bovada, remains the same. The over/under is 45 points at Sportsbook.ag.
Plenty of NFL betting sharps will be tempted to declare the Pats unstoppable at home and throw down on their line, but the Jets vs. Patriots game is far from an open-and-shut case. First off, the Jets already have a win over New England this season, albeit at New Meadowlands Stadium. The Jets picked off Tom Brady twice in that game.

Mark Sanchez went off for three touchdown passes in that 28-14 victory and he really hasn’t looked back since then. In his last four games, the sophomore pivot has thrown for at least 299 yards three times and tallied seven touchdown passes versus four interceptions. He’s rapidly developing a strong rapport with Santonio Holmes.
It’s possible that Sanchez and the Jets will move the ball on New England again Monday night. Contrary to popular belief, the Patriots don’t defend well. In fact, they stink. They’re dead last in the NFL in pass defense and next to last in total defense; those are unheard of ranks for a 9-2 team.
But that isn’t to say New England can’t win this game and cover the football betting lines. The Pats are the NFL’s highest-scoring team, averaging 30.4 points per game. The Jets’ defense is formidable, No. 3 in the league, but it’s still beatable against the pass, ranking 12th.
Tom Brady and the Pats’ offense are also particularly hot at the moment. Brady has 11 touchdown passes and no interceptions in his last four games; he’s been simply perfect. He’s also really starting to click with Wes Welker again; Welker caught two touchdown passes against the Lions on Thanksgiving Thursday and finally looks healthy again.
Betting the Total: 45 points at $SPORTSBETTING-LINK$
Bettors don’t have an easy decision. The first thing they should consider is picking the OVER on the over/under. All five of the Jets’ road games have gone over the total this year and, with both teams’ offenses clicking of late, we should expect a fair amount of points.
Betting the Spread: 3.5 points at $SPORTSBOOK-LINK$
As for the spread, as formidable as the Jets have been all season, it feels impossible to bet against Brady right now. He’s absolutely locked in. Even against a tough New York “D,” he should shine on Monday Night Football. Pick the Patriots at -3.5 in Week 13 NFL betting.
