Monday Night Football: Week 3 Preview

The Chicago Bears are 3-0 ATS in their last three road games against AFC East teams as they prepare to take the field at MetLife Stadium against the New York Jets as small road underdogs on Monday Night Football.

The Bears are 2.5-point underdogs against the Jets on the NFL Week 3 betting lines, and they enter Monday Night Football at 1-1 both SU and ATS on the season. Chicago fell 23-20 as a 6.5-point favorite to Buffalo in Week 1, then bounced back for a 28-20 win over San Francisco as a 7-point underdog in Week 2.

Chicago came back from a 20-7 deficit at the end of the third quarter against San Francisco, getting three touchdowns in the final frame to grab the upset win. Jay Cutler went 23 of 34 for 176 yards with four touchdown strikes in that win over the Niners. [Check out the latest Monday Night Football odds]

The Jets are 1-1 SU and 0-1-1 ATS on the season after beating Oakland 19-14 as a 6.5-point favorite in Week 1 then falling 31-24 as a 7-point underdog at Green Bay in Week 2. Jets quarterback Geno Smith went 16 of 32 for 176 yards with one touchdown and one interception against the Packers.

The Bears and the Jets have met eight times since 1985, with the UNDER paying out for totals bettors at the sportsbooks in seven of those contests. However, the most recent game between the teams in 2010 - a 38-34 Chicago win as a 3-point home favorite on the NFL odds - was an OVER result.
