NE Patriots: 2015 Playoff Odds & Props

The New England Patriots have made the NFL playoffs in each of the past six seasons, and despite their offseason troubles they're still favored at the online sportsbooks to advance to the postseason once again at the end of the upcoming campaign.

At Bovada the Patriots are listed as -200 favorites to make the playoffs in the 2015/16 season, something which they've managed to do every year since 2009. New England is then at +160 at the sportsbook to put an end to that streak and miss the postseason.

And New England's chances to make the playoffs would improve if starting quarterback Tom Brady manages to get his four-game suspension squashed by a federal court. Brady was handed the suspension by the league for the Deflategate scandal, but he's seeking an injunction from the court that will allow him to take the field to start the season.

If Brady can't begin the season with the Patriots it's expected that Jimmy Garoppolo will fill in for him while he's out - and Bovada is also offering props on how the backup quarterback will perform if thrust into action over the team's first four games.

The sportsbook has Garoppolo's OVER/UNDER for average passing yards set at 222.5 for the Patriots' first four games of the season - against the Steelers, Bills, Jaguars, and Cowboys - and his OVER/UNDER for total interceptions set at 3.5.

Garoppolo saw minimal time on the field for the Patriots last season, completing 19 of his 27 pass attempts for 182 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions. In Week 17 against the Bills Garoppolo went 10 of 17 for 90 yards passing in relief of Brady, with the Patriots having already clinched the top seed in the AFC.
