NFL ATS Results: Week 5 Betting Recap

The San Diego Chargers blasted the New York Jets by a score of 31-0 in Week 5, allowing both of those teams to keep a zero in the win-loss column through five weeks of the season.

The Chargers are perfect ATS on the season, sitting at 5-0 ATS (4-1 SU) thanks to their convincing victory over the Jets as 7.5-point favorites in Week 5. The Jets, meanwhile, dropped to 1-4 SU and 0-4-1 ATS with their lopsided loss to San Diego - New York won SU but lost ATS against Oakland in Week 1, and lost SU but recorded a PUSH against Green Bay in Week 2. Since then they're 0-3 both SU and ATS.

Joining the Jets with a winless ATS mark through five weeks are the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have posted an 0-5 SU record to go along with that 0-5 ATS standing. The Jaguars almost pulled off a cover in Week 5, losing only 17-9 to the Pittsburgh Steelers as a 7-point underdog.

Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos finally picked up their first ATS win of the season in Week 5, beating previously-unbeaten Arizona 41-20 as a 9-point favorite. Denver is now 3-1 SU and 1-3 ATS, while Arizona is 3-1 SU and 2-2 ATS.

Buffalo beat Detroit outright by a 17-14 score as a 7.5-point underdog in Week 5, while New England blasted Cincinnati 43-17 in a game that had been sitting as a pick'em on the betting lines by the end of the week. Indianapolis improved to 3-2 SU and 4-1 ATS with a 20-13 win over Baltimore as a 3-point favorite.

And New Orleans and Dallas both won in overtime in Week 5, but didn't manage to cover the spread for their supporters in the process. The Saints topped the Buccaneers 37-31 as an 11-point favorite, while the Cowboys got past the Texans 20-17 as a 7-point favorite.
