NFL Betting: Week 12 Injury Updates
For the third straight week the Green Bay Packers are dealing with an injury situation, only this time it's not a quarterback issue, albeit starter Aaron Rodgers is still out with a broken collarbone. But now the Packers are also dealing with a banged-up cornerback crew.
And even though they'll be hosting one of the worst teams in the league, division-rival Minnesota, it doesn't help being banged up on both sides of the ball.
Casey Hayward is still out with his hamstring injury and will miss this week's game; Sam Shields is also nursing a hamstring injury, and is listed as questionable. Rookie Micah Hyde missed practice time this week due to a groin injury, but he is listed as probable for the Packers.
If the Vikings find any kind of rhythm against the Packers' defense it may make things hard on Scott Tolzien, who will make his second NFL start in place of Seneca Wallace - who is on injured reserve with a groin injury after aggravating it two weeks ago in place of Rodgers. Green Bay is -4 at Bovada.
Over in the AFC, in what appears to be a very important game for the San Diego Chargers if they want to keep any kind of wild card playoff hopes alive, their outside linebacker Jarret Johnson says he may play despite having surgery on his left hand this past week.
Johnson missed practice this week, and even though he's been listed as doubtful, he's not happy with the fact he's missed three games this season with a hamstring injury and would love nothing more than to be able to help the Bolts snap a three-game losing streak in this crucial division clash with the Kansas City Chiefs, who are laying -5.
Finally, the Dallas Cowboys have announced linebackers Sean Lee and Justin Durant are out for their game at the New York Giants. Both key defensive players have hamstring injuries, and making matters worse rookie linebacker DeVonte Holloman will also sit and miss his fifth straight game with a neck injury - which means he won't be able to fill in for Durant. The Giants are -3.
