NFL Betting: Week 17 Opening Lines

Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos will get a chance to clinch a first-round bye this Sunday afternoon as they play host to the lowly Kansas City Chiefs as a massive favorite on the NFL betting lines at the sportsbooks.

The Broncos (12-3 SU, 10-5 ATS) opened as 17-point favorites at 5Dimes for their home game against the Chiefs (2-13 SU, 5-10 ATS) on Sunday, with Denver clinching a first-round bye with a win. Denver could also finish with the top overall record in the conference if the Texans lose to the Colts on Sunday.

Denver topped Kansas City 17-9 but failed to cover the spread as a 10-point road favorite in their first meeting of the season on November 25. The UNDER has paid out for totals bettors at the sportsbooks in each of the last four Broncos/Chiefs matchups.

The Patriots could also end up with a first-round bye in the AFC with the right set of results on Sunday afternoon, and they opened as big 12-point home favorites at 5Dimes for their game against the Dolphins.

New England (11-4 SU, 8-6-1 ATS) pushed a 7-point spread on the road in a 23-16 win over Miami (7-8 SU, 7-7-1 ATS) in their last meeting on December 2. Overall the Patriots are 5-0 SU and 3-1-1 ATS over their past five games against the Dolphins.

On Sunday Night Football this week the Redskins (9-6 SU, 10-5 ATS) will play host to the Cowboys (8-7 SU, 6-9 ATS), with the winner of that game claiming the NFC East division title. Washington opened as a 3.5-point favorite at 5Dimes.

Dallas fell 38-31 at home to Washington when those NFC East teams first met on November 22, with the Cowboys favored by 3.5 points in that contest. The Redskins have managed to cover the posted spread in each of their last five games against the Cowboys.
