NFL Betting: Week 9 Opening Lines

The Atlanta Falcons remain the only undefeated team left in the league heading into Week 9 of the season, and they've also been a solid option on the NFL betting lines at the sportsbooks through the first eight weeks.

The Falcons hold down a record of 5-2 ATS to go along with their 7-0 SU mark, and they opened as 5-point home favorites at Sportsbook for their game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football this week.

Dallas is 2-0 both SU and ATS in its last two games against Atlanta, but those contests were played in 2009 and 2006. On the season the Cowboys sit at 3-4 both SU and ATS through eight weeks.

Supporters of the Houston Texans have seen their team go 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS so far this season, and they opened as big 11.5-point home favorites at Sportsbook on the NFL betting lines for this week. The Texans thumped the Bills (3-4 SU and ATS) by a 31-10 score on the road when they last met back in 2009.

And the biggest home underdog on the Sportsbook NFL lines for the week were the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-6 SU, 4-3 ATS), who were sitting at +4 against the visiting Detroit Lions at Sportsbook. The Lions got back into the win column over the weekend, but they're still just 3-4 SU and 2-4-1 ATS on the season.
