Barring any sideline procedures by Pittsburgh's Mike Tomlin, the Steelers should have the edge this Sunday against the Miami Dolphins in a crucial showdown between AFC playoff hopefuls.
The Steelers, who are laying -3 at Sportsbook, are 5-7 on the year and would have to win the rest of the way to think about playing in the postseason. The Dolphins are one game better and tied with the Baltimore Ravens at 6-6.
But if the playoffs started this weekend, the Ravens would be in and Miami's season would be over.

So in this must-win for both teams, a low-scoring defensive affair wouldn't be surprising, especially since the total has stayed under in 15 of Miami's last 22 road games. Miami has lost five straight to the Steelers, but the Dolphins are on a 7-1 run both SU and ATS when installed as an underdog of three of less.
Once the lone remaining undefeated team in the NFL, the Kansas City Chiefs have lost three in a row and will look to get back on track in the nation's capital against the Washington Redskins.
The Chiefs, who are -3, arrive in D.C. on a 5-0 win streak both SU and ATS against the Redskins dating back to 1992. Kansas City has also won and covered four straight as road chalk. The Redskins, meanwhile, have lost 14 of their last 18 as home underdogs.
The NFC West showdown many thought would be worth much more at the beginning of the season doesn't carry as much weight now that the Seattle Seahawks have distanced themselves from the San Francisco 49ers. Seattle rolls in on an 8-2 ATS run on the road, and has won six straight divisional games. The 49ers, meanwhile, are in on a 7-1-1 ATS win streak overall.
In a key NFC South contest, Carolina visits New Orleans, where the Saints are laying -3.5 in the Sunday night game. Carolina arrives in the Big Easy on a bevy of win streaks, including an 11-1 run ATS in New Orleans.
The Panthers have also covered seven of their last eight this season and are in on a 6-1 ATS run when installed as the dog. New Orleans has covered seven of its last nine games played in December.
