NFL Week 10 Opening Odds
Favorites dominated Week 9 SU going 11-2, but played to a deadlock ATS at 6-6-1. With half of the season now complete, games are starting to tighten up down the stretch, resulting in some very small point spreads. This week, only two games have a favorite that is favored by more than three points.
Those two games are the New York Giants -14.0 at home against the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers -6.0 at home against the St. Louis Rams.
It is no surprise at all to see New York so heavily favored against Dallas. Dallas is 1-7 both SU and ATS (the NFL’s worst performer ATS), has lost five straight games, and is coming off of a 45-7 blowout loss. New York on the other hand is 6-2 SU (5-3 ATS), has won five straight games, and is coming off of a 41-7 blowout win. 14 points looks tempting in a division rivalry game, but all signs point to a New York blowout, and bettors will likely bet that way. San Francisco being favored by six, on the other hand, is surprising. St. Louis has outperformed San Francisco both SU and ATS, going 4-4 SU and 6-2 ATS to San Francisco’s 2-6 SU and 4-4 ATS. St. Louis is 0-3 SU on the road, but they’ve fought their way to a 2-1 ATS record away from home. This looks like a good spot to take the points.
Can Cleveland pull off the unthinkable in three straight games? Last week they topped New England 34-14 at home as 4-point underdogs, and in their previous game they went on the road and beat New Orleans 30-17 as 12.5-point underdogs at Bovada. This week, Cleveland is a 3-point underdog at home against the New York Jets. New York is 6-2 SU and 5-3 ATS, but has lost ATS in their last two games. Despite their recent ATS struggles, bettors are likely to side with New York at only -3.0.
Two of the NFL’s best face off in a rare Thursday night game as Atlanta is -1.0 at home against Baltimore. Both teams are 6-2 SU while Baltimore has the slight edge ATS at 4-3-1 to Atlanta’s 4-4. Baltimore has actually performed better ATS on the road at 2-1-1, but has also picked up both of their SU losses on the road. Atlanta is 4-0 SU and 2-2 ATS at home. Both sides should get plenty of action in this one.
Other opening lines this week include home favorites Buffalo -3.0 over Detroit, Jacksonville -1.5 over Houston, and Arizona -3.0 over Seattle, and road favorites Minnesota -1.0 over Chicago, Tennessee -1.0 over Miami, Kansas City -1.0 over Denver, and Philadelphia -3.0 over Washington.
