NFL Week 13 Betting Primer

Can you smell that? No, not the smell of the bookie burning all of his family photo albums just to stay warm because we’ve been robbing him blind, I’m talking about that crisp December air. With the calendar turning to December, weather absolutely needs to be considered when handicapping NFL games. Some teams are great bets when the temperatures get lower and snow starts to fall.

Here’s the proof:

  • Seahawks: 21-5 ATS in last 26 games in December
  • Steelers: 12-2-1 ATS in last 15 games in December
  • Ravens: 7-17 ATS in last 24 games in December
  • Dolphins: 3-12 ATS in last 15 games in December
  • Vikings: 16-5 ATS in last 21 games in December
  • Bucs: 12-28 ATS in last 40 games in December
  • Lions: 5-16 ATS in last 21 games in December

Notice that two of the awful December bets are teams from Florida while two of the great bets (Steelers and Seahawks) play in cold-weather climates. Coincidence? I think not!
