NFL Week 13 Odds: Mismatch Outlook

Ironically, in the biggest mismatch for Week 13, when it comes to this week's OddsShark.com Power Rankings mismatch plays, the higher-seeded team might want to stay focused and not get caught overlooking its division rival, as it's been playing better of late.

The 24th-ranked Tampa Bay Buccaneers visit the No. 3 Carolina Panthers, who are laying -9 at Bovada. After losing their first eight games of the campaign, the Bucs arrive after winning their last three games, having knocked off the Miami Dolphins, Atlanta Falcons, and the Lions in Detroit. Of course, this will be the biggest test in four weeks for the Buccaneers, as Carolina checks in riding a seven-game win streak, including wins over the 49ers at San Francisco and against the New England Patriots. The Panthers won the first meeting, 31-13, back on Oct. 24.

Next up is the AFC clash between the Patriots and Texans as No. 7 New England is laying -9 at 26th-ranked Houston. The Patriots responded from their loss to the Panthers two weeks ago with last week's come-from-behind win over the Denver Broncos in the Sunday night game. Trailing 24-0, New England used a second-half surge to defeat Denver in overtime, 34-31. The Texans, meanwhile, have lost nine in a row since a 2-0 start to the season.

Finally, the third biggest mismatch is out of the black-and-blue division, with the NFC North's Chicago Bears traveling to Minneapolis to take on the Minnesota Vikings. Ironically, though, it's the 30th-ranked Vikings who are laying -1 to No. 14 Chicago, which will play its second straight road game after losing by 21 to the Rams in St. Louis last week. Minnesota tied the Green Bay Packers last Sunday, 26-26.

As for the consensus plays at OddsShark, 67 percent of the bettors like the Giants at a pick at the Redskins, 66 percent are taking the Jaguars +7.5 in Cleveland, 65 percent are playing the Falcons -3 in Buffalo and also Tampa Bay +9.5 at the Panthers, and 64 percent like the Patriots laying -8.5 at Houston.
