NFL Week 13 Opening Lines

With a dozen weeks already in the books, bettors have had a big enough NFL betting sample size to have a pretty good feel for each team. As a result, with the New England Patriots trending upwards and the Indianapolis Colts still winless, bettors are left with a very rare NFL line this week.

New England is an astounding 20.5-point favorite at home at TopBet hosting the Colts on Sunday. The spread harkens back to 2007 when the undefeated New England Patriots were regularly double-digit favorites over inferior opponents. It is rare to see a favorite of over two touchdowns in the NFL, but with New England’s offense rolling and the Colts sitting at 0-11 SU and 2-9 ATS, it isn’t that surprising.

The San Francisco 49ers also opened as a double-digit favorite this week at -14 at Bovada at home against the St. Louis Rams.

Totals trended UNDER for the fifth straight week last week at 9-7. Six games opened with a total of under 39.5 this week, with the lowest being Kansas City at Chicago at 36.5 at 5Dimes.

Favorites and underdogs split right down the middle in Week 12 with an 8-8 ATS record while home and road teams also split with an 8-8 SU record.

Key matchups with Week 13 odds courtesy of BetOnline:

Raiders +2.5 at Miami – Both teams are 3-1 in their last four games, and Miami will be looking to play spoiler to the AFC West-leading Raiders. Miami is 5-0 ATS in its last five games.

Falcons -3 at Houston – After losing Matt Schaub for the season in the game before, Houston lost backup Matt Leinart last week as well and will move forward with rookie T.J. Yates. Houston is 5-0 SU and ATS in its last five games, but Atlanta is also hot at 5-1 SU in its last six.

Packers -7 at New York Giants – Green Bay will look to stay undefeated against the Giants, who are coming off a blowout loss on Monday night to New Orleans. Green Bay is 5-2 SU and ATS in its last seven games against New York.

Lions +9 at New Orleans – With Ndamukong Suh suspended for his Thanksgiving Day stomp, Detroit will head to New Orleans without him this Sunday night. New Orleans is 5-0 SU and ATS at home this season.
