NFL Week 16 Power Rankings

The San Diego Chargers' playoff lives may be hanging by a thread, but they still boast the No. 2 offense and the No. 1 defense in the NFL to secure the top spot in the NFL power rankings this week.

The Top 4 all remains the same this week, but the No. 5 spot is different after the Green Bay Packers jumped up three spots even without Aaron Rodgers at the helm. Can the Packers continue their rise now that their starting QB is cleared to return to action this week?

ADVERTISEMENT: The biggest NFL power ranking disparity in Week 16 is the #4 Steelers against the #28 Panthers. Small wonder Pitt is favored big, but the best Carolina line was +15.5 at Bovada for dog bettors.

1. San Diego (1) – After winning and covering the spread last week, the Chargers are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games.

2. NY Giants (2) – What do you think the odds are that the Giants start working out new punters this week?

3. Philadelphia (3) – The Eagles' fourth quarter against the Giants last week was one of the most amazing comebacks in NFL history. Unless you bet on New York.

4. Pittsburgh (4) – The Steelers' defense isn't the same animal without Troy Polamalu, as their four-game winning streak was snapped last week.

5. Green Bay (8) –  Matt Flynn filled in admirably for Rodgers, but the Packers would still love to have their starting QB back with their playoff spot still not secure.

6. Atlanta (6) – The Falcons have won eight straight (7-1 ATS on the NFL odds) heading into an NFC South showdown with the Saints on Monday night.

7. NY Jets (5) – The Jets finally scored an offensive touchdown in their 22-17 upset win over Pittsburgh in Week 15.

8. New Orleans (7) – The Saints can still win the NFC South as long as they knock off the Falcons on Monday night.

9. Baltimore (9) – Ray Rice had 233 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns last week. The Ravens' offense needs the boost heading into the playoffs.

10. Miami (10) –  Another home loss by Miami last week dropped them to 1-6 SU and 2-5 ATS on the NFL odds at home this season.

11. Oakland (12) –  Jacoby Ford had 71 rushing yards (on one carry), 47 receiving yards, and 102 return yards for the Raiders last week.

12. Kansas City (14) – Thanks to Jamaal Charles' 126 yards and a touchdown the Chiefs remain in the driver's seat in the AFC West.

13. New England (11) – The Patriots made it six wins in a row last week against Green Bay, but they failed to cover the spread.

14. Tampa Bay (13) – The ride could be over for the Bucs as they've lost three in a row ATS, killing their excellent NFL betting run.

15. Chicago (17) – After last week's 40-14 rout of Minnesota the Bears have gone OVER the total in four straight games.

16. Minnesota (15) – Another injury to Brett Favre and another blowout loss for the Vikings. What else is new?

17. Dallas (21) –  The Cowboys' five-game ATS winning streak was snapped last week, but they posted their 11th straight OVER result. Dallas faces the NFL's lowest rated power team, small wonder everyone is betting the Cowboys at Sportsbook.ag and forcing up the point spread.

18. Houston (18) –  The Texans stumbled again last week against Tennessee in their third straight loss both SU and ATS.

19. Indianapolis (19) – The Colts' playoff hopes remain intact after last week's win over Jacksonville.

20. Detroit (20) – The Lions snapped their 26-game road losing streak last week.

21. St. Louis (16) –  Even after losing their last two games and sitting at 6-8 the Rams are still tied for first place in the NFC West.

22. Jacksonville (23) – The Jaguars blew their chance to lock up a playoff spot last week and had their six-game ATS winning streak snapped as well.

23. Cincinnati (25) –  The Bengals snapped their 10-game losing streak after finally running the ball. Terrell Owens should have been hurt weeks ago.

24. San Francisco (22) – After getting crushed by San Diego last week the 49ers are all but done in the NFC West race.

25. Cleveland (24) – After losing to Cincinnati last week the Browns are 1-5 ATS in their last six games.

26. Buffalo (26) –  The Bills are still NFL betting gold and improved to 7-1-1 ATS in their last nine after upsetting Miami last week.

27. Tennessee (29) – The Titans snapped their six-game losing streak last week and won their second in a row ATS on the NFL odds.

28. Carolina (30) – The Panthers actually won last week and snapped their seven-game losing streak.

29. Washington (28) – Rex Grossman actually played well, but the Redskins still lost their fourth in a row.

30. Denver (27) – Tim Tebow didn't change things that much, as the Broncos lost their fifth straight game last week on the NFL odds.

31. Seattle (31) – The Seahawks are 1-4 both SU and ATS in their last five games. They're NFL betting fools gold.

32. Arizona (32) – Another week, another loss for the Cardinals, who have one win in their last nine games.
