NFL Week 17 Power Rankings

For everyone who pegged the Eagles as Super Bowl contenders, pay attention to their recent slide in our power rankings here.

And the thought that a Seattle win in Week 17 would put them in the playoffs makes us gag. They are rated 31st here and would be a 7-9 NFC West champion, ugh!

The Chargers, meanwhile, are not headed to the playoffs, but thanks to being one of the statistically best teams in the NFL they're still topping the Power Rankings. While the Chargers held firm at No. 1, the Giants and Eagles both suffered a slide which allowed the surging Steelers to move up to the No. 2 slot.

1. San Diego (1) – How does the No. 2 offense and No. 2 defense go 8-7 and miss the playoffs? Ask the Chargers.

2. Pittsburgh (4) – The Steelers' No. 1 defense has delivered five UNDER results in their last six games.

3. NY Giants (2) – What happened to the Giants' strong defense? They've been blown up for 83 points in their last two games.

4. Green Bay (5) –  Aaron Rodgers is over his concussion, throwing for 404 yards and four touchdowns against the Giants last week.

5. Philadelphia (3) – The Eagles' shocking loss to the Vikings snapped their three-game winning streak and their OVER streak.

6. NY Jets (7) – After their Week 16 loss to Chicago the Jets have only one win SU and ATS in their last four games.

7. Atlanta (6) – Last week's loss against the Saints snapped the Falcons' eight-game winning streak.

8. New Orleans (8) – The Saints are 7-1 SU and 5-3 ATS in their last eight after topping Atlanta last week.

9. Baltimore (9) – The Ravens have won three straight SU and ATS heading into their regular season finale versus Cincinnati.

10. Kansas City (12) – The Chiefs clinched the AFC West last week. Not bad for a team that opened the season as +600 underdogs to capture the division.

11. Miami (10) –  The Dolphins still can't win in Miami, and after last week's loss finished the season 1-7 SU and 2-6 ATS at home.

12. New England (13) – The Patriots look like the ones to beat in the AFC after reeling off seven straight wins. Their win over Buffalo last week snapped their eight-game OVER streak. [ The Pats are only favored by 3 points in Week 17!!?? Take it easy - they will rest starters against the Dolphins, but they may be good value anyway as they are 9-2 ATS past 11 season-ending games - see the latest odds at Sports Interaction and bet the game live. ]

13. Tampa Bay (14) – The Buccaneers' playoff dreams aren't dead, but they need a lot of help to make them a reality this week.

14. Oakland (11) –  The Raiders are out of the playoff picture but have the chance at their second win of the season versus Kansas City this weekend.

15. Dallas (17) – The Cowboys' OVER streak hit 12 games last week.

16. Minnesota (16) – The Vikings' win over the Eagles on Tuesday as a 14-point underdog probably cost some bettors a lot of money.

17. Indianapolis (19) – The Colts' offense is firing right now and their defense is burning, which has led to a 5-0-1 OVER record in their last six games.

18. Chicago (15) –  The Bears have scored 78 points in their last two games and have posted five straight OVER results. In other words, their offense is looking good heading into the playoffs.

19. Houston (18) –  The Texans' season-ending swoon continued last week with their fourth straight loss SU and ATS. Houston is 1-8 SU and 2-7 ATS in their last nine games.

20. Detroit (20) – The Lions are finishing the season strong with three straight wins SU and four in a row ATS.

21. Cincinnati (23) –  The Bengals shocked the Chargers last week. Can they do the same to Baltimore on Sunday?

22. St. Louis (21) –  The Rams have their own fate in their hands this week and can win the NFC West by beating Seattle on Sunday.

23. Jacksonville (22) – After losing their last two games the Jaguars need some help to make it into the playoffs.

24. San Francisco (24) – The 49ers can at least end their season on a winning note against the Cardinals this week.

25. Cleveland (25) – The Browns are fading down the stretch with three straight losses SU and ATS.

26. Buffalo (26) –  The Bills' offense hasn't scored more than 17 points in their last five games - which is why they're 4-1 UNDER over that span.

30. Carolina (28) – The Panthers can start deciding how they want to use Andrew Luck next season - if he leaves college early.

31. Seattle (31) – The Seahawks have lost three straight and five of their last six but with a win over St. Louis on Sunday they'll win the NFC West.

32. Arizona (32) – The Cardinals have won two of their last three games but still don't have a shot at first in the weak NFC West.
