NFL Week 3 Sunday Games News & Notes

Still looking for their first victory of the season, the Kansas City Chiefs might not have running back Jamaal Charles in their lineup on Sunday as they take on the Dolphins in Miami as road underdogs on the Week 3 betting lines.

Charles is listed as questionable on the Chiefs' official injury report for this week with an ankle injury, and is considered a game-time decision for the 4:25pm ET contest. The Chiefs sat as 3.5-point road underdogs for this game at the sportsbooks as of Saturday night.

Matchup Reports: Chiefs vs. Dolphins | Redskins vs. Eagles | Niners vs. Cardinals

Also listed as questionable for Sunday is Washington wide receiver DeSean Jackson, who has a shoulder injury. Washington is a 7-point road underdog for Sunday afternoon against Jackson's old team, the Eagles. That game is a 1:00pm ET kickoff.

Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer (shoulder) is expected to miss his team's 4:05pm ET game against the division-rival 49ers on Sunday, with Drew Stanton starting again in his place. Tight end Vernon Davis will be a game-time decision on Sunday for the Niners, who are set as 2.5-point road favorites for the matchup.

San Francisco only lost four games last season, but those losses came in pairs (Week 2 and Week 3, Week 10 and Week 11). The Niners lost 28-20 to the Bears last week, and the OddsShark Computer picks them to lose to the Cardinals on Sunday despite the fact they are favored. Arizona is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 home games as underdogs, while San Francisco is riding a 9-2 ATS streak against the Cardinals.

The biggest matchup for Sunday has the Seahawks listed as a 5-point favorite vs. the Broncos, with the betting trends showing that Seattle has won and covered its past three games heading into a bye week. The Seahawks are also 10-1 SU in their last 11 home games heading into a bye week.

As well, the Rams are 11-3 on the OVER/UNDER in their last 14 games before their bye week as they host the Cowboys in a pick'em on Sunday - the total for that matchup is set at 44 points. Looking to find your own bye week trends? Go to the OddsShark NFL Database and click the Before/After Bye tab.

The OddsShark Computer is already sitting at 0-1 for the week after (wildly incorrectly) projecting a 19-18 nail-biter in favor of Tampa Bay on Thursday Night Football. The Computer got a reboot once the score reached 49-0 for the Falcons that night.
