Patriots Have Been Rolling Since Brady's Return

In the first rematch of Super Bowl 49, the Seattle Seahawks will head east to take on the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium looking for redemption. The Pats have won and covered in four straight games coming into this prime-time matchup and opened as big favorites. In their last 15 games as underdogs of seven points or more, the Seahawks are just 4-11 against the spread.

SHARK BITES
  • The Patriots have won 19 home games in a row after playing consecutive road games.
  • The Seahawks are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games after a win.
  • The Patriots are 5-1 both SU and ATS in their last 6 home games against the NFC.

Russell Wilson and the Seahawks were left looking for answers after their defeat in the Super Bowl and it’s unlikely they find any kind of salvation in this matchup. The Patriots’ only home loss to an NFC team in their last six matchups against them came against the Eagles last year in a game Philly scored three non-offensive touchdowns and came away with a seven-point victory that would wind up being the Pats’ only loss at Gillette all year.

Tom Brady has – obviously – been a big factor in the Pats’ success since Week 5. New England is undefeated since Brady returned from suspension and has beaten opponents by an average of 16.25 points and hasn’t won by less than 11. In that time, No. 12 has completed 73.1 percent of his passes for 1319 yards and 12 touchdowns and he has yet to throw an interception.

The Seahawks have thrived on their solid defense this year but the Buffalo Bills proved in Week 9 that there are definitely some chinks in the armor. Tyrod Taylor and the Bills’ 19th-most efficient passing attack managed to gain 289 yards through the air on the Seahawks. New England has the No. 1 most efficient passing attack in the NFL and has a pretty good running game to boot.

With Russell Wilson and the rest of the Seahawks still not running the football effectively, it’s tough to see the Patriots failing to outscore them.
