Seahawks are Having Major Issues Covering on the Road

The 2017 campaign has been a tough one for the New York Giants, but the G-men finally picked up their first victory of the year over the Denver Broncos on Sunday night. They will be in tough to make it two in a row against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 7.

Giants opened as 5.5-point home underdogs with a total of 38.5.

Shark Bites
  • The Giants are 0-6 ATS in their last six games when hosting a West Coast team.
  • The Giants are 2-10 SU in their last 12 games as home underdogs.
  • The total has gone OVER in four of the Seahawks’ last five games on the East Coast.

This is the first meeting between the Seahawks and Giants since Week 10 of the 2014 season, when Seattle came out with a 38-17 win.

Seattle finds itself a half-game behind the Los Angeles Rams for first place in the NFC West but is still the odds-on favorite to win the division at most sportsbooks. The Seahawks, who are coming off their bye week, have won three of their past four following the bye while covering on two of those occasions.

The offense simply hasn’t been there for the Seahawks so far, and one of the NFL’s weakest offensive lines is a major reason why. Russell Wilson and company have been held to 16 points or less in three tilts so far. Seattle has been a brutal bet when playing away from home, going 1-6 ATS in its last seven on the road.

The Giants pulled off the stunner of a win over the Broncos as nearly two-touchdown underdogs last week, which was especially strange since they were playing without Odell Beckham Jr., who suffered a season-ending injury in Week 5. Eli Manning was playing without his top three receivers (Beckham, Brandon Marshall and Sterling Shepard) and managed 128 yards through the air as a result. Running back Orleans Darkwa stepped up to the tune of 117 yards against the No. 1 rushing defense in the NFL.

Betting the Giants to win straight up as home underdogs has been a questionable decision recently, though. New York is a measly 2-10 SU in its last 12 at MetLife Stadium when getting the underdog label.
