Super Bowl Lines Update
With less than a week until kickoff for Super Bowl XLV the odds you're getting on the big game depend on which sportsbook is taking your wager.
When the Super Bowl matchup was first determined and the odds first appeared online last week most books were displaying the same spread and total. That would have been the Green Bay Packers as a 2.5-point favorite, and the total set at 45.5.
A little more than a week later you won't find that matching spread and total at any book right now. Instead, you'll find a different mix of spreads and totals all over the web. So what has changed to cause the line movement? One possibility is some bad news on the Pittsburgh injury front.

The Steelers have two important players banged up right now, with center Maurkice Pouncey dogged by an injured ankle and defensive end Aaron Smith dealing with a tricep injury that has kept him out since Week 7. [ Steelers vs Packers Matchup Stats ]
Pittsburgh had held out hope that both or at least one might be able to return for the Super Bowl, but Pouncey is expected to miss, while Smith is considered highly doubtful.
The Steelers' injuries and the early action haven't sent the lines flying, though. At a number of books, including Bovada, the line hasn't moved at all and the Packers remain 2.5-point chalk. A few other books, such as Sportsbook.ag and Bovada, have adjusted the line by half a point and set the Packers as a 3-point favorite.
The best Steelers line at the moment is at Bovada where the -2.5 is accompanied with -110, making it the cheapest way to bet on Pittsburgh. The over-the-top bonus there makes it worth a look on a couple of fronts.
Totals bettors have seen the posted total drop everywhere. The total began the week at 45.5 points, and the most popular total among the books right now is 44. A couple of books that are currently riding with that total include Bovada and Bovada.
