Point Spread Favors the Saints in Week 2 Battle with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been the whipping boy for the New Orleans Saints for several seasons with the Bucs riding an 0-7 SU and 3-4 ATS run against their NFC South rival. The teams will meet again on Sunday afternoon.

It is clear that the Bucs need some time to grow after a Week 1 beatdown at the hands of the Titans. Jameis Winston had a lot of jitters early, throwing a pick-six with his first throw in the NFL. Doug Martin also looked good early on, but the Bucs needed to abandon the running game when they started to trail badly on the scoreboard.

Offensively the Saints were the Saints in Week 1 with a passing attack the could be near the top of the NFL once again, but their defense fell apart. New Orleans' defense allowed 427 yards of offense, including allowing Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer to average nearly 10 yards per completion.

Opening Odds & Computer Pick

Sportsbooks, including Bovada, had set the New Orleans Saints as -9.5-point favorites on the opening line for this contest. The total was hovering around 48.5 earlier in the week (check for the current over-under lines at MyBookie).

A 30-20 result in favor of the Saints is the prediction by the Odds Shark handicapping pick engine. View the computer score prediction and who will win the pick on the moneyline for all upcoming NFL matchups here.
