Jaguars aiming to put elusive win streak together

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be looking to tally consecutive outright wins for the first time since Week 6 of last season when they host the Tennessee Titans on Sunday in a clash of AFC South rivals at EverBank Field. The Jaguars stunned Houston with a 29-7 Week 1 win as 6-point road underdogs, while Tennessee disappointed in a 26-16 loss to Oakland as 2.5-point home chalk.

Shark Bites
  • The total has gone OVER in eight of the Jaguars’ last 11 games in September.
  • The Titans are 9-25-1 ATS in their last 35 games in the early afternoon.
  • The total has gone UNDER in six of the Titans’ last seven games on the road against the Jaguars.

Last week’s win over the Texans lifted Jacksonville to 4-0 ATS, both in its past four meetings with AFC South rivals, and in its past four overall regular-season matchups. However, the Jaguars have struggled to record outright wins on home turf, going 2-7 SU in their past nine.

The Titans opened the season amid high expectations after closing out the 2016 NFL campaign on an 8-4 SU run, and holding opponents to 17 or fewer points in four of their final six contests. Tennessee’s defense has also held opponents to fewer than 100 rushing yards in seven of its last 10 outings.

Jacksonville holds the clear edge in recent home dates with the Titans, posting SU wins in five of six while holding Tennessee to just 16 points per game during that stretch. That includes a 38-17 win as 4.5-point underdogs in Week 16 of last season.
