Week 14 odds - Raiders vs. Jets

Oakland RaidersNew York Jets

Despite some brutal performances by rookie quarterback Geno Smith the New York Jets, for the moment, say they'll stick with him as the starter.

But if the Jets hold out any hope of staying in the AFC playoff race that situation may have to change, maybe by the time New York kicks off with the visiting Oakland Raiders Sunday in New Jersey.

Over his last five games Smith has completed less than 50 percent of his passes, throwing eight interceptions and zero touchdown passes. Last week against Miami, for the third time in the last five weeks, the Jets called on back-up Matt Simms for mop-up duty.

Oakland has QB issues of its own, and has been going with rookie Matt McGloin recently. The Raiders are coming off a tough 31-24 loss at Dallas Thanksgiving Day.

As of early this week most books were chalking New York at -2.5 over Oakland at Sportsbook. But the Raiders own some positive trends (6-1 ATS in its last seven games on the road and 9-4 ATS in its last 13 games overall).

The Raiders will look to vanquish their hosts on Sunday, as they are 8-4 ATS versus the spread this season, while the Jets are 6-6 ATS. Oakland is 5-6-1 against the total, while New York is 7-5 versus the number.
