Week 3 NFL Betting Primer

Entering Week 3 of the NFL season, underdogs still have the edge over favorites, posting a 17-12-3 record through the first two weeks. We've also seen 13 straight-up wins by underdogs, good enough for a 40.6% SU win mark for dogs so far this season. 

If you're trying to cash in this weekend without doing any research first, you likely won't have much success. Luckily I'm here to do the research for you. Below you'll find a compilation of trends, facts and nuggets with both the bettor and fantasy player in mind.

Vikings at Panthers
  • The Panthers are 14-0 SU in their last 14 games at home, winning by an average of 14.5 points.
  • The Panthers have seven straight home wins by eight points or more.
  • Cam Newton has thrown 17 TDs and 2 INTs in his last five home games. He also has three rushing TDs in those games.
  • The Panthers have gone OVER in seven of their last eight home games.
  • The Vikings are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games after a win.
  • The Vikings are 6-1 SU in their last seven games on the road.
Ravens at Jaguars
  • Jacksonville is 2-10 SU and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 home games vs teams with winning records.
  • Jacksonville’s 117 rushing yards this season is the third-worst in the NFL.
  • Baltimore has only allowed 371 passing yards — ranked first in the NFL.
  • In his last five games, Blake Bortles has thrown 8 INTs and 8 TDs.
  • The Ravens are 8-3 SU in their last 11 games against the Jaguars.

  • The Bengals are 4-0 SU in their last four games after a loss.
  • The Bengals have allowed a league-worst 279 rushing yards this season.

Browns at Dolphins
