Prop: Where Will Manziel Be Next Year?

Johnny Manziel

Unless you've been living under a rock, I'm sure you've heard about Johnny Manziel’s recent escapade. Just in case you hadn’t heard, the Cleveland Browns quarterback reportedly took a trip to Vegas while on concussion protocol, wore a disguise to try and hide his identity, then didn’t show up for the team's final game of the season.

Since the Browns fired coach Mike Pettine there has been several reports that suggest the Browns are completely done with ‘Johnny Football’ and his partying lifestyle. The Cleveland organization still needs to hire a new head coach and general manager, but odds suggest that Manziel’s time in a Browns uniform is over.

Bovada has tabbed the Dallas Cowboys as the likeliest landing spot for Manziel next season. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has openly spoke about his desire to draft Manziel in 2014, but several members of the organization talked him into selecting Zack Martin. Jones has also gone on radio recently and said that he was willing to acquire a ‘risky’ quarterback to put behind Tony Romo.

The next most likely destination for Manziel according to Bovada is St. Louis (or maybe Los Angeles). The Rams have already announced that Jeff ‘7-9’ Fisher will still be the coach of the team next season, but his job is far from secure. Fisher has also said that Case Keenum is the Rams quarterback next season, so it can’t get much worse in that regard. A wager on the Rams is speculating that Fisher is willing to risk his future on Manziel over Keenum or a newly drafted quarterback.

If you think that Manziel’s talents are better suited to the CFL or the AFL or rehab, then you can wager on the signal caller not even playing in the NFL next season. Manziel not playing in the NFL is currently listed at +700, better odds than him landing in San Francisco or Houston.

Which team will Manziel be on in Week 1 of the 2016 regular season?
