Will an NFL Team Go Winless or Undefeated in 2016?

In the NFL, there’s the good, the bad and the ugly. Due to its 16-game season, a bad start can completely wipe out any hopes of making the playoffs. The discrepancy between star-studded teams and cellar-dwellers is often exaggerated more than in any other league, and a club can come out of nowhere to either surprise or disappoint when you least expect it.

Online book Sports Interaction is offering odds on if an NFL team will have a perfect or winless season, with the chances of a franchise going 16-0 at +3700 and 0-16 at +4000.

Since the league's 16-game regular season was implemented in 1978, the 2007 New England Patriots are the only team to win every game in the campaign. The Pats went on to lose Super Bowl XLII against the New York Giants that year.

The hapless 2008 Detroit Lions are the lone squad to lose 16 contests. Detroit became the first non-expansion team to lose every game in a full season since the Second World War.

So, who has the best chances to go undefeated? According to the shop, the Patriots, Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers top the rest of the field with projected OVER/UNDER win totals of 10.5. On the other side of the coin, the Cleveland Browns (4.5), Tennessee Titans (5.5) and San Francisco 49ers (5.5) are the candidates to have the worst season.
