Windy City Odds Special: Can Cubs, Hawks and Bears all Win?

Can the other teams in the Windy City catch a contact buzz off the high the Chicago Cubs are riding right now? If you answered yes to that question, then I have just the bet for you.

Bovada is currently offering a line for the Cubs, Blackhawks and Bears to all win at home this weekend. The +1000 odds for this to happen would be extremely attractive if this bet didn’t require the Bears to win in order to cash it.

Given they don’t get swept by the Indians, the Cubs will be playing Game 5 of the World Series, the Blackhawks have a very winnable game against the Quick-less Kings on Sunday and the Bears have the Monday nighter this week against the 5-1 Minnesota Vikings.

Joe Maddon’s Cubs have been almost automatic at home this year, so let’s say they win this one and move on to the Blackhawks. LA is in a desperate search for a starting-caliber goaltender right now and will most likely be starting what’s left of journeyman Peter Budaj or former prospect Jack Campbell. The Kings will be on the second half of a back-to-back and will be playing their third tough game of the week as the Hawks are the last in a line of suitors that also includes the Predators and Blues. Needless to say, I like Quenneville's Hawks in this one.

So, what about the Bears?

Although Minnesota was exposed by the Eagles in their last game, they are a much better team than the 1-6 Bears. Chicago’s football team has an offense that’s scored just 15.9 points per game (worst in the NFL). This stat bodes terribly for their chances at beating a Vikings team that has allowed the fewest points and limited opposing offenses to the fewest yards per game in the NFL.

This bet will most likely come down to the Monday prime-timer and I have zero confidence in John Fox’s Bears. That said, the Vikings are just 1-7 in their last 8 games at Soldier Field so if you’re up for a big gamble, this one could pay off huge.

Will the Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks all win on October 30th and 31st?
