Bruins Are up Against Some Tough Factors Tonight

The Rangers will host a Boston team tonight that’s on the second night of a back-to-back and just a day removed from a walloping at the hands of the Minnesota Wild. The Bruins will be in tough to survive for the next few games as they are now down to their third- and fourth-string goalies.

SHARK BITES
  • The total has gone OVER in 3 of the Bruins' last 4 games against the Rangers.
  • Zane McIntyre (Bruins) had a save percentage of .898 with Boston's AHL club last season.
  • The total has gone OVER in 3 of the Rangers' last 4 games with 2 days off between games.

Malcolm Subban did not fare well in the Bruins' net last night and will not be trusted with the start this evening. The Rangers have peppered opposing netminders with the fifth-most shots per game so far and will be drooling at the prospect of playing Zane McIntyre, a goalie who allowed two goals in just 29 minutes last night in his first bit of NHL experience when he relieved Subban.

There will be a vast difference between the experience of each team’s starting goalie tonight as the Rangers will roll with 11-year veteran Henrik Lundqvist in net. King Henrik had a slow start to the year but has now posted two strong starts in a row and will not have to be spectacular to get another win tonight.

The favorite in this series has won the last five matchups and I’m going to have a tough time betting on a team that’s playing the bad half of a back-to-back, playing in a hostile rink and relying on a below-average AHL goaltender.
