Chicago favored heading into Round 2

After making short work of the Minnesota Wild in the first round of the playoffs the Chicago Blackhawks find themselves as the favorites on the odds to emerge from the NHL's Western Conference at the sportsbooks heading into the second round.

The Blackhawks are the 10/11 favorites at Bovada on the odds to win the NHL's Western Conference this season as they prepare to get their second-round series against the rival Detroit Red Wings underway this week.

Chicago bounced Minnesota in five games in the first round of the postseason. Detroit, meanwhile, used all seven games to upset the Anaheim Ducks in the first round, and they're at 13/2 on the odds to win the Western Conference at Bovada.

The other Western series has San Jose taking on Los Angeles in an all-California matchup, with the Sharks at 13/4 and the Kings at 7/2 on the conference futures at Bovada. Los Angeles knocked out St. Louis in six games in the first round, while the Sharks swept the Canucks in just four games.

Over in the Eastern Conference the top-seeded Pittsburgh Penguins remain the favorites on the odds to win the East this spring despite the fact they needed six games to get past the Islanders in the first round. Pittsburgh will take on Ottawa in the second round; the Sens knocked out the Habs in five games.

And the final second-round series has the Boston Bruins taking on the New York Rangers, with both of those teams needing a Game 7 victory on Monday night to advance past their first-round opponents - the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Washington Capitals. Round 2 action gets started on Tuesday.
