Ducks, Rangers on NHL lines
Anaheim and the New York Rangers will do battle for the second time this season when the two meet in the Big Apple on Thursday night in NHL betting action at 5Dimes.
The Ducks took the earlier matchup at home, and have won back-to-back games against the Rangers. New York has won two straight at home against the Ducks and will be likely favorites on the NHL betting lines.
Anaheim started the season well, but has since lost four of the last five games. The Rangers haven’t been much better, splitting their last four games. By virtue of their record at home, it’s likely the Rangers will see the majority of action from bettors on the NHL betting lines.
Eight of the Ducks' first 12 games have made winners of UNDER bettors in totals betting and two of the last three head-to-head with New York have also gone UNDER the posted total.
The early NHL surprise among bettors has been the play of the Edmonton Oilers, and they try to win a sixth straight on Thursday when they head to Los Angeles to play the Kings in a late NHL betting matchup at 5Dimes.
Los Angeles has dominated the Oilers in recent memory and will be favorites among bettors on the NHL betting lines for this first meeting of the season. Edmonton is a different team with even more young skill and a sparkling 1.64 GAA and that can hurt any team on any night.
Eight of the last 10 head-to-head matchups between these teams have sent UNDER bettors to the payout window in totals betting.
League-leading Pittsburgh will be road underdogs in NHL betting action on Friday when they land in San Jose to play the Sharks. These teams have not played often, but the Sharks hold a big advantage head-to-head.
Both teams had winning streaks snapped last time out, and both will be fired up to get back into the win column. Five of the last six meetings between Pittsburgh and San Jose have gone UNDER the oddsmakers' posted total.
