TD Garden Has Felt Like Home to the Canadiens

One of the most storied and heated rivalries in pro hockey will re-ignite this evening when the 3-0-1 Montreal Canadiens enter the TD Garden to face off with the 3-1-0 Boston Bruins. This matchup has been incredibly one-sided over the past few seasons and with the best goalie in the world back between the pipes for Montreal, the needle could be moving even further in the direction of the Canadiens.

SHARK BITES
  • The Canadiens are 9-2 in their last 11 games against the Bruins.
  • The total has gone UNDER in the Bruins' last 3 games.
  • The Canadiens are 5-0 in their last 5 games on the road against the Bruins.

Carey Price is, of course, the man I’m speaking of for the Habs. He has not lost a game against the Bruins since the 2012-2013 season – that’s seven straight wins – and has a .923 career save percentage against Boston. In his 2014-15 Vezina and Hart Trophy-winning season, Price went 4-0 with a .950 save percentage and one shutout in his four starts against the Bruins. No. 31 made his first start of the season in a 5-2 win against the Coyotes earlier this week and looks to be back to all-star caliber.

Claude Julien has not released who will be starting in net for the Bruins tonight but it’s possible Tuukka Rask (3-0, .947 SV%) misses the game tonight due to the “general soreness” his head coach said was the reason he missed Friday's practice. Anton Khudobin will get the start if Rask is unable to suit up and that would hurt the Black and Yellow’s odds significantly as the Bruins’ No. 2 allowed four goals on just 24 shots his only start thus far.

Boston has won two straight games but considering the Bruins have lost seven straight after winning consecutive games and Montreal has yet to lose in regulation this year, the plus-money on the Canadiens' moneyline seems like a no-brainer.
