NHL Betting: Habs vs. Bruins
Original Six rivals Boston and Montreal will renew hostilities when the two meet at TD Garden in NHL betting action on Thursday night. Both teams are not off to the starts they envisioned before the season and they will be emotionally charged for this game.
The Bruins will be likely favorites at Bovada since they are on home ice and are the defending Stanley Cup champions. Boston is also 4-1 in the past five head-to-head, while taking four of the last six at home against the Habs.
Montreal is allowing too many goals per game, and if that isn’t bad enough news for the Canadiens they are one of the worst teams on the power play as well.
The Canadiens can win in Boston as they have done - the Bruins are not playing like champions and have lost two of the last three at home. There is evidence to suggest an underdog wager on the Canadiens could get some action on the NHL betting lines for this encounter. Six of eight Boston games have made winners of UNDER bettors in totals betting.
Tampa Bay is a likely underdog on Thursday when they play the Nashville Predators in the Music City. The Lightning are catching fire - winning three straight - while the Predators are losers in four of the last five.
Both teams are piling up goals and don’t exactly boast stellar goals-against averages, and this could give an advantage to the OVER bettor in this matchup between Tampa Bay and Nashville.
Another interesting betting matchup has the San Jose Sharks in Detroit to face the Red Wings on Friday night. The Red Wings will be likely favorites at home at Bovada, but the Sharks have reason to believe they can be a good underdog wager in this game.
The Sharks have won three straight since starting 1-3 - and Detroit has gone the other way, dropping back-to-back games. San Jose has also won seven of the last 10 head-to-head and that should draw attention to the Sharks on the NHL betting lines.
