NHL Betting: Lightning vs. Bruins Game 7

It's winner-take-all on Friday night as someone will advance to the Stanley Cup final when the Tampa Bay Lightning and Boston Bruins meet in Game 7 of the NHL's Eastern Conference final.

The Lightning faced elimination in Game 6 on Wednesday but survived with a 5-4 win as a -125 home favorite. Martin St. Louis had three points with two goals and an assist in that game, and he now leads the Lightning in playoff scoring with 20 points. Steven Stamkos also stepped up with a goal and two assists, and Teddy Purcell continued his magical playoff run with a pair of goals.

The only real concern for Tampa Bay was the play of Dwayne Roloson in nets. After getting benched in Game 5 Roloson returned with a mediocre effort in Game 6, allowing four goals on only 20 shots. There were some questions about Mike Smith possibly getting the start over Roloson in Game 7, but expect the veteran to be back between the pipes again. Roloson is 7-0 in playoff elimination games and won't be watching from the bench.

The Bruins got a hat trick from David Krejci in Game 6, but it wasn't enough thanks to a weak penalty kill. The Lightning netted three power-play goals in the win and Boston will need to play more disciplined and avoid spending so much time in the box if they hope to win Game 7.

Tim Thomas will also need to be stronger after allowing five goals on 26 shots in Game 6. Thomas has bounced back strong already in this series; after allowing five goals in Game 2 Thomas responded with a 31-save shutout in Game 3.

With the series concluding in Boston the Bruins are a -145 favorite in Game 7 at 5Dimes. Boston is 2-1 at home in the series so far and they've won six of their last seven games at home overall. Before losing their last two games at Boston the Lightning had won six straight on the road in the postseason.

Whoever does win Game 7 on Friday night will move on to face Vancouver in the Cup final. During the regular season the Canucks lost to the Bruins and the Lightning in their only matchups. On the latest Cup futures odds at 5Dimes the Canucks are heavy favorites at -190, followed by the Bruins at +355, and the Lightning at +485.
