NHL Lines: No Ovi vs. Bruins
A day after visiting the White House the Boston Bruins get back to business when they meet the Washington Capitals at the Verizon Center in NHL betting action on Tuesday night.
Washington has a solid 17-6-1 record at home, but Boston is no slouch on the road and has compiled a 15-6-0 record away from TD Garden this season.
As well, the Capitals will be skating without top forward Alex Ovechkin on Tuesday, as he'll be sitting out the first game of a three-game suspension.
Recent history gives the edge to the Bruins, who have won four of the last five head-to-head with the Capitals on the NHL betting lines at 5Dimes, including two of the last three in Washington.
Six of the last eight meetings between these teams have made winners of UNDER bettors in totals betting.
Two hot teams will collide later on Tuesday in NHL betting action when the Pittsburgh Penguins meet the high flying St. Louis Blues at the Scottrade Center.
St. Louis has lost just three times in regulation at home this year and will be a home favorite at 5Dimes for this matchup. The Blues had won four straight heading into this week’s action, but a game in Detroit on Monday before meeting the Penguins could prove to be taxing on the body.
The Blues defeated the Penguins 3-2 in their only meeting this season in Pittsburgh, but perhaps a five-game winning streak by the Penguins will be the spark needed for redemption against St. Louis.
Seven of the last 10 head-to-head have paid out to UNDER bettors in totals betting.
The lone NHL betting matchup on Wednesday before the All-Star Break has the Detroit Red Wings in Montreal to play the Canadiens in an Original Six meeting at the Bell Centre.
Montreal pulled out a 3-1 win over Toronto last time out, but they will be contending with a Red Wings team that had six straight victories heading into this week's action on the NHL betting board.
The Red Wings have not been strong on the road, but are so spectacular at home they are right in the thick of the playoff picture in the Western Conference. Expect Detroit to see the majority of action on the NHL betting lines at 5Dimes.
