The Buffalo Sabres spent million in free agency and were supposed to be contenders in the Eastern Conference this season.
When that didn’t happen, in part because of injuries to blueliner Tyler Myers and partly because free agents Ville Leino and Christian Ehrhoff have struggled. Ditto Brad Boyes, a trade deadline acquisition last year.
So now the Sabres are mentioned as the biggest sellers at the upcoming NHL trade deadline. There are rumors galore and NHL trade rumor odds to go along with them, starting with Derek Roy and Drew Stafford.
But they are not the only struggling team with veteran talent that could see trade and three other teams made the sportsbook NHL odds list this week.
Carolina’s pugnacious winger Tuomo Ruuttu is a -300 favorite to be traded, while Jason Blake in Anaheim is -140 to stay with the Ducks’ recent turnaround.
Columbus (Antoine Vermette) and Minnesota (Josh Harding) also make the list. Check out the latest hockey props and daily NHL money lines and pucklines at .
