Olympic Hockey Odds: Playoff Updates

Four teams remain in the quest for the gold medal in men's Olympic hockey in Sochi, and the United States is closing the gap on rival Canada on the Olympic hockey odds at the sportsbooks heading into their semifinal matchup on Friday.

The Americans cruised into the semifinals on Wednesday with a 5-2 win over the Czech Republic as favorites on the Olympic hockey betting lines, while Canada just edged Latvia by a score of 2-1 in their quarterfinal matchup. The Canadians and the Americans will now meet in the semifinals on Friday.

And the Olympic hockey betting lines at Bovada now have Canada as just a slight 8/5 favorite over the 9/5 United States on the odds to win the gold medal this weekend, with the Canadians having scored just 13 goals in four games in the Olympics. The Americans have scored 20 goals.

The odds to win the gold medal at Bovada have Sweden pegged third at 16/5, with Finland rounding out the list at 13/2. Heading into the quarterfinals of the tournament Finland had been listed back at 14/1 on the gold medal odds.
