Pens, Caps NHL betting matchup
Sidney Crosby’s Pittsburgh Penguins will take on the Washington Capitals in NHL betting action between the rival clubs on Thursday night.
Washington bolted out of the gate by winning its first seven games but has since flopped – resulting in head coach Bruce Boudreau getting fired this week and being replaced by Dale Hunter.
The Capitals have lost three straight but have a strong record of 8-3-1 at home. Washington has beaten the Penguins four straight head-to-head, including a 3-0 shutout of Pittsburgh the last time these teams played at the Verizon Center to pay off on the NHL betting lines at 5Dimes.
The Penguins led the NHL with 32 points as of Wednesday night, but they are only a 6-6-2 team on the road. Washington might garner the majority of attention on the NHL betting lines, but the Penguins are fuelled by Crosby’s return.
Five straight games between Pittsburgh and Washington have made winners of UNDER bettors in totals betting.
The New Jersey Devils started slowly and will need to be at their best when they face the Minnesota Wild in NHL betting action on Friday night at 5Dimes. The Wild shared the lead atop the Western Conference with the Chicago Blackhawks before Wednesday night’s betting action.
The Wild have nine wins at home and should see the majority of action on the NHL betting lines for Friday. Six of the last nine games head-to-head have sent OVER bettors to the payout window in totals betting.
