Stanley Cup playoff betting action gets underway on Wednesday night this week, with the Chicago Blackhawks and the New York Rangers starting the postseason as the favorites on the odds to win their respective conference titles and advance to the Stanley Cup final this spring.
At Sportsbook the Blackhawks are the 7/2 favorites on the odds to win the Western Conference, followed by the St. Louis Blues at 4/1, the Anaheim Ducks and the Minnesota Wild at 9/2, the Nashville Predators at 6/1, the Vancouver Canucks at 8/1, the Calgary Flames at 10/1, and the Winnipeg Jets at 12/1.
Chicago has a first-round matchup against Nashville starting on Wednesday night, while Vancouver takes on Calgary, Minnesota meets St. Louis, and Anaheim battles Winnipeg in the other three first-round playoff series in the Western Conference.
Over in the Eastern Conference the Rangers are pegged as the 5/2 favorites at Sportsbook to get to the Stanley Cup final for the second straight season, with New York trailed by the Montreal Canadiens (9/2), Tampa Bay Lightning (9/2), Detroit Red Wings (8/1), New York Islanders (8/1), Ottawa Senators (8/1), Pittsburgh Penguins (8/1), and Washington Capitals (9/1) on that list.
The Rangers will take on the Penguins in a first-round playoff series starting on Thursday night this week, while the other three matchups on the Eastern Conference side of the bracket are Montreal vs. Ottawa, the Islanders vs. Washington, and Detroit vs. Tampa Bay.
