Weekend NHL Betting: Back-to-Back Pens

Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins will be on the ice for back-to-back matinee NHL betting matchups this weekend as they take on the New Jersey Devils on Saturday and the Washington Capitals on Sunday.

The Pens first play host to the Devils on Saturday afternoon, with those two teams having split their last 10 meetings 5-5 on the NHL betting lines at sportsbooks like Bovada. Each of their last three meetings have turned into OVER results.

Pittsburgh then travels to Washington to take on the Capitals on Sunday afternoon, and they've managed to win just three of their last 10 games against Alexander Ovechkin and company dating back to early 2010. The UNDER is 1-7 over their past eight meetings.

Saturday's NHL betting schedule also includes Buffalo at Montreal, Edmonton at Colorado, Detroit at Columbus, Carolina at Philadelphia, the Rangers at Tampa Bay, Boston at Toronto, Dallas at Phoenix, Los Angeles at Anaheim, Chicago at Calgary, and Nashville at San Jose.

San Jose is 4-2 over its past six games against Nashville, with the OVER/UNDER going 2-3-1 for totals bettors at sportsbooks like Bovada in those contests.

On Sunday it's then also Florida at Buffalo, New Jersey at the Islanders, and Ottawa at Montreal. The Senators beat the Canadiens 5-1 as a -145 favorite on the NHL betting lines on Wednesday night, improving them to 4-6 over their last 10 games against the Habs.

Montreal is expected to have newly-signed defenseman P.K. Subban back in the lineup for this weekend's games, while Ottawa forward Jason Spezza will have back surgery and will be out of the team's lineup indefinitely.

The latest odds to win the Stanley Cup at Bovada had the Penguins listed as the 17/2 favorites, with the Sharks at 9/1 odds, the Canadiens at 25/1 odds, the Senators at 30/1 odds, the Devils at 33/1 odds, and the Predators and Capitals at 40/1 odds on those NHL futures.
