Weekend NHL Betting: Flyers on the road

The Philadelphia Flyers will be trying to turn around a slow start to the 2013 season this weekend as they hit the road for a pair of NHL betting matchups against the New Jersey Devils and the Montreal Canadiens.

The Devils play host to the Flyers on Friday night, and New Jersey is 5-0 on the NHL betting lines at sportsbooks like 5Dimes over the last five meetings between the Atlantic Division clubs.

Overall Philadelphia is 3-7 in its past 10 games against New Jersey, with the OVER/UNDER going 4-6 in those 10 contests.

The Flyers, though, have had better results against the Canadiens lately, winning eight of their past 10 matchups dating back to 2010. Montreal has only picked up one win over its last seven games against Philadelphia. Those teams will meet in Montreal on Saturday night.

Friday night's schedule this week also includes Boston at Buffalo, Pittsburgh at Winnipeg, Anaheim at Detroit, St. Louis at Calgary, Dallas at Vancouver, Columbus at Los Angeles, and San Jose at Chicago. The Blackhawks topped the Sharks 5-3 on February 5.

Rounding out Saturday's slate are Tampa Bay at Florida, New Jersey at the Islanders, Anaheim at Nashville, Columbus at Phoenix, Colorado at Edmonton, and Ottawa at Toronto. The Senators, who are missing both Jason Spezza and Erik Karlsson, have played to an UNDER result at 5Dimes in four of their past five games against the Maple Leafs.

Sunday then rounds out the weekend's NHL betting slate with Pittsburgh at Buffalo, Los Angeles at Chicago, Boston at Winnipeg, Calgary at Dallas, Detroit at Minnesota, St. Louis at Vancouver, and Washington at the Rangers. The OVER/UNDER is 0-5-5 over the past 10 games between the Capitals and the Rangers.
