Bolts, Panthers on NHL betting lines

Tampa Bay went deep into the Stanley Cup playoffs last year, but can’t quite find that groove in the early going this season. The Lightning will have to fend off the state-rival Panthers when the two clash in the second game of a home-and-home set on Monday in NHL betting action.

Florida edged Tampa Bay as a slight -105 favorite on the moneyline on Saturday, while the five goals went UNDER that game’s posted total of 5.5. The Lightning will be likely home favorites in this contest at 5Dimes, but they have dropped two of the last three at home to the Panthers.

Florida has also won three of the last four head-to-head, and that should draw plenty of attention from underdog seekers on the NHL betting lines. Tampa Bay opened the season with a win, but has been losers in four straight since then.

Toronto and Colorado are surprises in the early going. The Maple Leafs host the Avalanche as likely home favorites on the NHL betting lines at 5Dimes for this Monday night affair.

Both teams are getting good goaltending, and are defending shorthanded very well. Colorado is decidedly better on the power play, and that could give underdog bettors of the Avalanche a reason to wager.

Carolina will go up against defending-champion Boston for the second time already this season when they meet in NHL betting action Tuesday night.

The Bruins will be favorites at home, but must play better if they expect to even the season-series at a game apiece when the Hurricanes roll into town. Boston has won three of the last four head-to-head, and the Bruins should gain most of the attention on the NHL betting lines at 5Dimes.

Carolina defeated Boston 3-2 in Raleigh when the two met less than a week ago. The Hurricanes were +115 underdogs in that victory, while the teams played UNDER the posted total of 5.5.

Winnipeg and Toronto will be on the NHL betting docket in the lone league matchup on Wednesday night. The Jets are slow out of the gate, while Toronto owns the head-to-head advantage and are playing some great hockey to begin the season.

Expect the Maple Leafs to garner most of the attention on the NHL betting lines at 5Dimes when the two meet this week.
